On Martyrs’ Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying tribute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, remembering their supreme sacrifice for India’s freedom. Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi hailed their fearless pursuit of freedom and justice, stating that their legacy continues to inspire generations.
“Today, our nation remembers the supreme sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. Their fearless pursuit of freedom and justice continues to inspire us all,” the Prime Minister wrote.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also honored the three martyrs, acknowledging their relentless fight against British rule, casteism, and social discrimination. “Their fearless struggle and supreme sacrifice against injustice and oppression is an example for every Indian,” Gandhi posted on X, emphasizing that their vision of equality and brotherhood remains a guiding force.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid homage, highlighting the revolutionary spirit of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru, who ignited a nationwide freedom movement. “These great revolutionaries proved through their lives that there is no greater duty than patriotism. Their sacrifice will continue to inspire generations,” Shah wrote.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge shared a poetic tribute, describing the unwavering courage of the martyrs:
“Main zulmat-e-shab mein le ke nikloonga apne dar-manda caravan ko… sharar-fishaan hogi aah meri, nafas mera shola-baar hoga.”
(“I will emerge from the darkness of the night, carrying my caravan of helplessness… My breath will be a spark, my soul will burn like a flame.”)
He added, “The revolutionary spirit of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev will remain immortal.”
